“Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.”
― St. Catherine of Siena
On Monday evening, students gathered together for a night of Mercy and Mary. Last semester, Mercy and Mary hosted two of Fr. Michael Gaitley’s programs including The Second Greatest Story Ever Told, and 33 Days to Morning Glory. The latter program, a preparation for Marian consecration, ended on the feast of the Immaculate Conception on December 8th when students participating made their consecration.
This semester Mercy and Mary meets to begin its third program: 33 Days to Merciful Love. In this particular program, Fr. Gaitley focuses on Saint Therese’s Little Way and her offering to Merciful Love. The goal is for students participating to make this offering to Merciful Love on Divine Mercy Sunday.
Among the students participating in the Mercy and Mary’s study of 33 Days to Merciful Love program, Maria Miller ’22 believes that this group will be a beautiful opportunity for her to renew her offering to Merciful Love, which she has done before. “The Little Way is a beautiful way to live everyday life for Jesus,” Maria commented. When asked why she thought this program was so important for the school, Maria noted that “anything that’s consecrated to Divine Mercy is powerful.” Later, commenting on the Mercy and Mary program, Maria added, “When you’re doing something so powerful as a community, eventually you’ll just become a force of spiritual fire.”
