On Tuesday, February 12, Northeast Catholic College hosted a workshop on job interviews as part of the college’s Career Pathways Program. Debbie Harne, Career Pathways Coordinator, gave students advice and answered their questions about job interviews, drawing on her own experience as a recruiter for a management consulting firm.
Students learned about common interview questions, interview etiquette, and what interviewers are looking for in an applicant.
“Mrs. Harne guided us through several interview situations and offered valuable tips on how to present oneself truthfully, pleasantly and with decorum. We were taught how to present ourselves during an interview and were made aware of common detrimental, yet easily correctable, mistakes. Mrs. Harne had insightful information to share about being well spoken and professional while being interviewed over the phone, during a video call or in person. I became more comfortable with the idea of being interviewed, and feel better prepared for it,” said Northeast Catholic student Zofia Joynt ‘22.
Through the Career Pathways Program, Northeast Catholic College builds bridges to career and internship opportunities for students, assisting them as they cross these bridges and prepare for a life of human flourishing and faithful service. Students who are preparing for job interviews can also receive one-on-one help with preparing their resumes and practice interviews to help them during the interview.
